Greek journalist slaying linked to terror group

ATHENS, Greece — A Greek journalist was gunned down Monday outside his home in Athens, in an attack police say is linked to a domestic terrorist group.

Sokratis Giolias, 37, died after being shot more than 15 times before dawn in the capital’s eastern neighborhood of Ilioupoli.

Police said bullet casings found at the scene were matched to two 9-millimeter handguns used by the Greek terrorist group Sect of Revolutionaries,

The group attacked a TV station in Athens in February 2009 and said at the time that it would target journalists, politicians and police.
