Disabled in UAE get 50 percent discount in taxis

Dhabi, July 8 (IANS/WAM) Disabled and elderly people in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will now get an up to 50 percent discount on taxi fares.

Under the new scheme, disabled and elderly people and social assistance beneficiaries will be issued a discount card with taxi rates slashed up to 50 percent. Widows and woman divorcees will be given a discount of up to 25 percent, TransAD, Abu Dhabi’s taxi regulator, said in a statement.

An agreement in this regard has been signed by the ministry of social affairs and the taxi regulatory body.
