DG BSF pays floral tribute to jawan killed in Akhnoor’s Pargwal sector

AKHNOOR - Senior Border Security Force officers paid floral tributes to the deceased jawan at BSF headquarters at Paloura in Jammu before his body was flown to his native town Bangalore.he Jawan was killed in firing from across the border in Chak Phagwari Pargwal sector Akhnoor on Tuesday evening.

Special DG, BSF has flown to Jammu to access the situation as Pakistan has been continuously firing for last two days.

This is the second killing incident on International Border Akhnoor in Jammu.

“One of our boy (soldier) was killed when he was hit by a bullet and the other was shot dead when he was manning the fence. After that firing was started from that side which was retaliated well from our side.”

“Our soldiers are patrolling the fence so it is open; he was not hiding behind a bunker or something. I think things should be okay. “said PPS Sidhu,” said Special DG, BSF.

“We have biannual meetings also apart from the flag meetings.

Meeting are held at company commandant level, at the commandant level at the DIG i.e. sector level. Then twice a year there is biannual meeting with DG Punjab rangers. So these issues get thrashed out over there,” he informed. By Tahir Nadeem Khan (ANI)
