2 BSF Jawans killed, civilians hurt in Pak firing

AKHNOOR - Two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed and some civilians were injured as Pakistan Rangers targeted the security personnel and civilians in forward areas of Chak Phagwari and Pindi area in Pargwal sector of Akhnoor here on Tuesday.

Villagers were terrified due to continuous firing even on civilians.

Swaroop, a local resident, was hit by a bullet from Pakistani side while cultivating crops in his field. His co-workers immediately rushed him to Government Medical College in Jammu.

Firing injured other villagers too.

Even after rounds of flag meetings between BSF and rangers during the day July 6, heavy firing was witnessed in forward areas of Pargwal sector including Pindi, Phagwari etc at around 9:15 p.m..

A few days back Pakistani rangers had targeted civil population in forward village of Abdullian on International Border, RS Pura sector, killing one cattle and two animals. (ANI)
