LONDON - WBA world light-welterweight champion, Amir Khan, has been rushed to hospital after collapsing at his Bolton home with a mystery illness.

According to The Sun, Khan is presently undergoing extensive tests at the private Beaumont Hospital.

The boxer took a holiday in Egypt following the successful defence of his world title against Paulie Malignaggi in New York in May.

After returning, he flew to South Africa via Dubai to watch the World Cup. However, on returning home, he complained of having fever and feeling drained on Sunday night.

“Doctors think he may have been bitten by something on his travels. He’s talking to visitors but is very weak,” the paper quoted a close family friend, as saying. (ANI)
