DHARAMSHALA - Mahesh Yadav, a medical practitioner and a unique crusader of Tibetan freedom movement from Bhopal, has been sketching portraits of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama with his own blood.

Yadav has intended to present these to Dalai Lama as a birthday gift.

Reportedly, a book titled ‘Tibet’ inspired Mahesh Yadav in 1996 to take up the cause of Tibet.

“I have been working for the freedom of Tibet, security of India and world peace since long. I consider Dalai Lama to be the second form of Mahatama Gandhi. Today is Dalai Lama’s birthday. He will turn 75 this year. Therefore praying for his long life, I have wished him by painting his sketch with blood,” he said.

People visiting the display of Yadav’s creations were enthralled and appreciated his dedication.

“He has been a great follower of His Holiness Dalai Lama. He has been a very true supporter of Tibetans and he is doing this from the bottom of his heart. I deeply appreciate his work and hopefully his work would definitely make some good production in the future for the Tibetan cause,” opined Jigme, a Tibetan.

Till today Yadav has made over 600 blood portraits of many world leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Barack Obama and has written many blood appeals to various national and international leaders and fora about Tibet’s cause. (ANI)
