DHARAMSHALA - Tibetan Prime Minister-in-exile Samdhong Rinpoche wished Indians on the occasion of Diwali on Friday.

“Diwali is very important for everyone. It is a festival of lights and also a festival of victory of righteousness and a defeat of the evil forces. So, we always look to this festival with great happiness,” said Rinpoche in his message.

“And my message to all the people of India is my greetings and congratulations for this festival and this festival should bring a spiritual value to every India,” he added.

Diwali, popularly known as the festival of lights, is an important festival occurring between mid-October and mid-November.

Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (diyas) filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil.

Most Indian business communities begin the financial year on the first day of Diwali. (ANI)
