Terminal 3 Delhi Airport Inaugurated

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- After much waiting and anticipation the terminal 3 in Delhi IGI Airport was inaugurated today by Manmohan Singh, the Prime minister of India. The event was attended by other noted political personalities including Sonia Gandhi and Shiela Dixit. The inclusion of the terminal will ease the burden on the old terminal and would help the airport to cater to the increasing passenger load as was reported by the civil aviation minister. The T3 as the new terminal is being called has state of the art features and is huge in size. However, the new terminal is hogging the limelight not only for the facilities. The terminal is adorned with a majestic and gorgeous carpet.

The grand carpet laid at Delhi’s IGI airport’s new terminal 3 is local made. It was made over several months in fact. It has been spread over an area comprising of 1,70,000 sq metres. That is a huge area which is equal to as many as 24 football fields. This is possibly the biggest carpet ordered by a customer in the country so far. The order was taken up by Brintons Carpets of the UK. They have the record of making carpet for White House as well. The work was done at Mulshi where the factory of Brintons Carpets Asia Pvt Ltd. Almost 320 people worked with 20 weaving machines for 4 months to complete this huge carpet.

The carpet at the terminal 3 in Delhi IGI Airport is brown in color. It is going to be a major attraction at the terminal as anyone can understand.
