US military: 2 American soldiers die in Iraq

BAGHDAD — The U.S. military says two American soldiers have died in Iraq.

A military statement released on Friday says the soldiers died in separate incidents but not in combat.

It says the deaths are under investigation and provided no details. The names of the deceased soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The deaths raise to 4,411 the number of U.S. military personnel who have died in Iraq since the war began in March 2003. That’s according to an Associated Press count.
