Police: Ecstasy likely contributed to Calif. death

DALY CITY, Calif. — Police say various potencies of Ecstasy likely contributed to the death of man who attended a San Francisco Bay area rave concert.

Daly City police Sgt. David Mackriss also said Tuesday that authorities were ruling out the possibility that tainted drugs killed 23-year-old Anthony Mata, who died Sunday.

Six other people remain in critical condition for suspected overdoses. Two are in stable condition.

More than 16,000 people attended the “POP 2010″ music festival Saturday at the Cow Palace in Daly City.

At least 75 people were arrested for possessing or selling drugs, and about 800 Ecstasy pills and $5,000 in cash were confiscated.
