POONCH - In a combing operation, security personnel recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives from a militant hideout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday.

The recovery was made near the fence on the Line of Control (LoC) in Kath Panjal area.

According to Javed Iqbal, Deputy Superintendent (Operations), Poonch, the recovery is part of the arms smuggling operation, in which three persons were arrested last week.

“This fence at the LoC is near a village there. Since it is not near to the fence so the movement of ANEs (Anti-National Elements) is very frequent there. So since the past three-four days, we have been doing a general operation there,” he added.

104 AK rounds, 185 Pika rounds, two UBGLs (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher), two fuses and two grenades were recovered from the site. (ANI)
