Clarification: Amazon and Penguin story

SAN FRANCISCO — In a story May 26, The Associated Press reported that Apple Inc. insists that publishers who sell electronic books through its iBookstore application can’t sell the same books at a lower price through a competitor. The story should have specified that Apple’s policy applies to new releases of e-books. For older titles, publishers can charge whatever they want.
