Execs: East Coast casino market getting crowded

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — As new casinos keep popping up, gambling companies are fighting harder for smaller shares of their market.

Executives at the East Coast Gaming Congress, a national casino conference, say that with many states now adding table games to the mix, it’s going to be even harder for some casinos to succeed in the cutthroat East Coast gambling market.

Casino operators in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio and West Virginia all say they are being forced to fight for one another’s customers.

A trade group says 12 East Coast casinos that now offer only slots will add table games within six months.
