Security forces recover huge cache of arms from a militant hideout in J-K

MAHORE - The security personnel burst a militant hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives during a combing operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Mahore region on Friday.

Acting on a tip off, the army and state police conducted this joint operation in the Bassa forest of Mahore.

According to official sources, this recovery was the biggest in the region and a major success for the security forces.

“Our teams made this recovery in the dense jungle area of Seda in Bassa forests. With this recovery, the last hideout of Hizbul Mujahideen and the hidden cache of weapons have been busted in the region,” said Sujit Kumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Mahore.

The recovered arms and ammunition ranged from one Pika gun, 50 Pika rounds, one AK-47, 11 detonators, six AK-47 magazines to six Chinese grenades, four wireless sets and one binoculars. (ANI)
