Vice president: Son to leave hospital next week

WILMINGTON, Del. — Vice President Joe Biden says his eldest son will be released next week from the Philadelphia hospital where he’s recovering from a mild stroke.

Biden told KDKA radio in Pittsburgh on Friday that doctors plan to release Beau Biden next week.

Beau Biden, Delaware’s attorney general, was hospitalized Tuesday after suffering what a doctor described as a mild stroke.

He is being treated at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
