Equinix boosts sales forecast on acquisition
FOSTER CITY, Calif. — Equinix Inc. on Friday boosted its second-quarter and full-year revenue forecasts to factor in its recent acquisition of Switch & Data Facilities Co.
The data center service provider said it now expects revenue of $296 million to $298 million for the quarter ending in June, up from a previous forecast of $258 million to $260 million.
For the full-year, it expects $1.23 billion to $1.24 billion, up from $1.07 billion to $1.08 billion.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters forecast, on average, revenue of $259.1 million for the second quarter and $1.07 billion for the full year.
Equinix announced in October that it would buy Switch & Data in a cash and stock deal worth about $689 million. It closed the acquisition April 30, meaning second-quarter results will include Switch & Data revenue from May and June.
Equinix shares fell 59 cents to $91.86 in afternoon trading.
