Mexico gives body of TV producer’s wife to family

CANCUN, Mexico — Authorities in the Mexican resort of Cancun have handed over the body of an American television producer’s wife to her relatives.

The attorney general of Quintana Roo state says the family will apparently take the body of Monica Beresford-Redman back to the U.S. for more tests. Attorney General Francisco Alor says the body was turned over to a sister, Jeane Burgos.

A hearse arrived Monday night at the morgue where Beresford-Redman’s body has been since she was found dead at a resort hotel April 8.

Husband Bruce Beresford-Redman is barred from leaving Mexico while the death is investigated. The former producer of “Survivor” and co-creator of the “Pimp My Ride” show has said she failed to return from a shopping trip. .
