Sarkozy, Barroso call for rapid action on Greece
PARIS — The leaders of France and the European Union are calling for “rapid and resolute” action against financial speculators targeting Greece.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso say they are in agreement on the need for action in order to assure the stability of the 16-country eurozone.
Sarkozy’s office issued the statement Monday following a working lunch between the French president and Barroso.
