Car goes airborne, lands on roof of Conn. office
STAMFORD, Conn. — Witnesses and police say a Connecticut man drove his car into a stone wall, went airborne and landed on the roof of an accountant’s office before stopping in a yard.
Police say Chenpai Lee drove his car into the opposite lane and hit a wall late Thursday in Stamford. They say the car flipped several times, flew and punched a hole in the roof of the office, where it briefly landed.
The car brought down power lines when it stopped, for good, in the yard.
Police say utility crews had to cut power to the wires before Lee could exit his car.
Barry Gould’s accounting office was hit by the car. He says it looked like someone had tried to install a sun window in his office.
Lee wasn’t seriously injured. Police told the Stamford Advocate it was too early to know if Lee would face charges.
