Biden to visit Belgium, Spain May 5-8

WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden plans to travel to Belgium and Spain next month for meetings with European Union representatives and to address the European parliament.

The White House announced the trip on Friday.

Biden will visit Brussels and Madrid from May 5-8 for talks on improving U.S. and E.U. cooperation on counterterrorism and other issues. The vice president also will meet with NATO officials.

In Spain, he is scheduled to meet with King Juan Carlos, Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero (zah-pah-TEH’-roh) and other members of the Spanish government.
