MALKANGIRI - Eleven personnel of the elite Special Operation Group (SOG) were reportedly killed when Naxals triggered a landmine in Orissa’s Korapt District on Sunday.

According to police, the SOG personnel came under attack when they were on their way to Malkangiri.

The incident occurred near Govindpali area in the district.

It is also suspected that more personnel were injured in the incident.

Last month three SOG personnel were killed and six others injured in a fierce gun battle between Maoists and in Gajapati District.

In June 2009, the Naxalites killed nine personnel of the Orissa Special Strike Force (OSSF) in Jogi Pallur in Koraput District by triggering a landmine.(ANI)
