Subway to roll out breakfast nationwide April 5
CHICAGO — Subway is joining the breakfast scramble and will begin selling the popular and profitable meal early next month.
The new menu is already being served in some cities but will be available at almost all of the sandwich chain’s 23,000 U.S. restaurants April 5.
The breakfast menu sticks with Subway’s sandwich specialty and will feature a range of omelet sandwiches.
Subway executives say the move is a way for the restaurant chain to win new customers. Many fast-food chains are taking aim at breakfast as they clamor for diners’ dollars. Since coffee, eggs and other breakfast ingredients are cheap, the meals can be very profitable if customers like them.
Subway is based in Milford, Conn.
