McCain, Palin to campaign together in Arizona

PHOENIX — John McCain and Sarah Palin are teaming up again on the campaign trail.

It will be their first time campaigning together since they lost the presidential election a year and a half ago.

They spent months jet-setting around the country stumping for the nation’s top job. But this week they have a different prize in sight: McCain’s seat in Congress.

The Arizona senator is in the midst of the toughest re-election battle of his Senate career. Former congressman and conservative talk-radio host JD Hayworth is mounting a primary challenge from the right.

Palin will help McCain trump his conservative credentials at rallies in Tucson on Friday and the Phoenix suburb of Mesa on Saturday. The former running mates will hold a fundraiser on Friday in Phoenix.
