Correction: BC-US–Plane Kills Beachgoer story

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — In stories March 16 and March 17 about a jogger hit and killed during an emergency landing by a small plane on a South Carolina beach, The Associated Press erroneously identified the type of engine on the plane.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration’s registration, the aircraft had a TSIO-550-C engine, which is a six-cylinder, fuel injected, turbo-charged engine, not a turbine engine.
