Nigeria: Acting president dissolves cabinet

ABUJA, Nigeria — Nigeria’s acting president has dissolved this West African nation’s cabinet, a month after assuming the young democracy’s highest office.

State-run broadcaster NTA made the announcement at 6 p.m., but offered no details.

Jonathan took over as acting president Feb. 9. President Umaru Yar’Adua hasn’t been seen publicly since November. Yar’Adua’s physician has said the president is suffering from a serious heart condition.
