San Diego SeaWorld cancels Friday orca show
SAN DIGEO, Calif. — SeaWorld in San Diego will suspend the Shamu show for a third day on Friday after a trainer was killed by an orca in Orlando, Fla.
Spokesman David Koontz says SeaWorld is offering its trainers counseling and are reviewing all its procedures, including how the trainers interact with animals. Park officials have not determined whether the show will resume Saturday.
Visitors can still see the orcas from the park’s walkways.
On Wednesday, a killer whale attacked a SeaWorld Orlando trainer who slipped or fell in its tank. The trainer drowned in front of the audience, who were quickly told to leave stadium. The park was immediately closed.
