‘Garden of fragrance’ for Delhi’s disabled

NEW DELHI - The Delhi government’s tourism department will construct a special garden of fragrances to benefit disabled people, Chief Minister Shiela Dikhsit said Friday
“The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) would construct a special garden of fragrance for disabled persons in the corporation-run Garden of Five Senses, which would include herbal trees, in south Delhi,” Dikshit said.
The chief minister made this announcement after inaugurating Delhi’s 23rd Garden Tourism Festival here Friday.
The three-day festival showcases a collection of native plants, colourful flower beds, bulbous plants in the midst of lush green lawn.
The DTTDC hopes that the festival will encourage residents to make Delhi greener and more beautiful.
The festival has competitions in 32 categories for potted plants, dahlias, hanging baskets, foliage plants, cactus, aromatic or herbal and medicinal plants, bonsai plants, vegetables, flower decorations and roses.
The festival is open for public from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
