Trump annoyed with park weddings next to golf club
LOS ANGELES — Donald Trump is at odds with officials in Rancho Palos Verdes over weddings at an oceanfront park next to his Trump National Golf Club.
Couples can pay less than $1,000 to get married at Founders Park, a 5.5-acre park with spectacular ocean views that sits behind Trump’s clubhouse.
The park has no bathrooms, limited parking and just a few benches. Trump says bridal parties that book weddings in the park assume they can use the facilities at his golf club where weddings can cost as much as $150,000.
Trump manages park rentals for the city and either wants out or an increase in wedding prices. Trump’s general manager David Conforti wrote a letter to the city saying the golf course is losing money on the deal.
Mayor David Wolowicz says the city is trying to work out a solution with the golf club.
