ResCare buys 2 companies

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — ResCare Inc., which provides residential, training and support services to people with physical and mental disabilities, said Tuesday that it acquired RP Home Care and Progressive Personal Care.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

RP Home Care offers personal care, housekeeping and meal services to over 1,000 people in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Its annual revenue is expected to be about $15 million.

Progressive Personal Care offers similar services to over 400 people in Alaska and Montana, and its annual revenue is expected to be about $7 million.

ResCare said the purchase of RP Home Care will let it expand in Delaware and Pennsylvania, while the acquisition of Progressive Personal Care will allow it to move into the Alaska and Montana markets.

ResCare shares rose rose 11 cents to $9.28.
