Edwards’ ex-aide says rejects big offers for tape

RALEIGH, N.C. — A former aide to two-time presidential candidate John Edwards said he has been offered “gigantic amounts of money” to sell what he says is a sex tape showing Edwards with his former mistress.

Andrew Young told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Monday that he has rejected offers to sell the tape. He did not say who made the offers.

Young says in a new book about Edwards that he found the tape in a box left in a home he and his wife shared with Rielle Hunter. Edwards has acknowledged fathering a child with Hunter.

Young has said his book, “The Politician,” was not motivated by a desire to cash in on his time with Edwards.

Hunter last week won a temporary restraining order in a North Carolina court demanding that Young return a 2006 video “of a very private and personal nature.”
