Police: Standoff in western Pa. ends with suicide

ZELIENOPLE, Pa. — Police say a man has committed suicide after a five-hour standoff with police at a western Pennsylvania home.

Police in Zelienople (zee-lee-uh-NOH’-pul) say the standoff started when someone called 911 to report a man had barricaded himself in Tuesday morning. They say he later fatally shot himself.

Zelienople is about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.
