RAJOURI - Girl students of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir are being imparted special arms training by the paramilitary forces to counter militancy in the state.
The picturesque valley in the remote hills of Rajouri district is these days reverberating with the sound of gunshots being fired by the young girls in the use of advanced weapons.
“The girls should not stick to one profession, they should get into the force to help their country. They should come out and utilize their knowledge by joining the Indian paramilitary forces. It is good for the girls, as they should learn to outsmart the boys in every aspect,” said Jabeen, Police inspector.
After being inspired by Rukhsana Kausar, the girl who single-handedly took on a group of terrorists who barged into her house in a village in the Kashmir valley in September last, other girls want to get trained in self defence and want to learn the use of weapons.
” After the brave act of Rukhsan Kausar, all the girls of this region want to get trained in self-defence. Now, we are confident enough to fight any odds and are ready for any challenge that comes our way,” said Rubiya Chaudhary, a trainee. By Nadeem Khan (ANI)
