Train traffic stopped on Northeast Corridor

ABERDEEN, Md. — Amtrak says all train traffic was temporarily stopped between Washington and Philadelphia after a body was found near tracks south of the Aberdeen station in Maryland.

Rail traffic was stopped around 2:20 p.m. Friday when a body was found about 15 feet from the tracks a half-mile south of Aberdeen. Police believe the person was hit by a train and are investigating.

Two tracks reopened around 2:50 p.m. at limited speed. Delays can be expected for trains going between Washington and Philadelphia.
