ISTANBUL - It was a giant handshake for He Pingping, world’s shortest man, when he met in this Turkish capital Sultan Kosen, who has been crowned the tallest man on earth.
The 21-year-old 73.66-centimetre (2 ft 5 in) tall, who hails from China, said that he was happy to meet Kosen.
The 27-year-old Turkish farm labourer Kosen, with height of 246.5 cm (8 ft 1 in), took over the title from Bao Xishun, beating his Chinese rival by 10 cm.
“I was having hard times to notice him,” said the tallest man, welcoming Pingping to his country Thursday at a ceremony to mark the launch of the Guinness World Records live road show, Press TV reported.
Pingping is facing a challenge to his title as his fellow countryman Wu Kang is applying to Guinness World Records, claiming that he is under 68.58 cm (2 ft 3 in).
