Jyoti Basu : Rumors of death untrue

KOLKATA (GaeaTimes.com) — Twitter is abuzz with the news of passing away of Jyoti Basu, the veteran communist leader and former Chief Minister of West Bengal. Though no confirmation has been made to the media yet, we got this news from kalponik.us that he breathed his last at 1.30 pm at the Salt Lake AMRI Hospital in Kolkata.
Note: According to latest reports Jyoti Basu is alive and even improving.
In the morning we gave you the news that Mr. basu was taken into ventilation after his health condition turned serious on Wednesday. He had been admitted to AMRI hospital, Salt Lake since last Friday following a “moderately severe” pneumonic infection. He was under the supervision of a special medical board at the ICU.
The stalwart leader with exceptional leadership qualities chose the path of Marxist revolution 60 years back and has never looked back. He possessed unusual manner charisma with character.
Jyoti Basu brought dignity and grace to the Marxist governance not only in West Bengal but all over India. He was Home Minister in Ajay Mukherjee’s Cabinet at the height of the Naxalite movement. He served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for 23 years (from 1977 to 2000) and was India’s longest-serving Chief Minister. He was a member of the CPI(M) Politburo from the time of the party’s founding in 1964 until 2008.
