Military family’s belongings stolen during move

SPOKANE, Wash. — A military family moving from North Dakota to Washington state in advance of the father’s deployment to South Korea lost all their valuables when their truck and moving trailer were stolen in Spokane.

Spokane Police say both vehicles have been recovered but the family’s belongings, including Christmas gifts, military uniforms and jewelry, had been taken.

Sharon and Dewey Brown and their 7-year-old daughter Cami were staying at a motel in Spokane Valley when the truck and trailer were stolen. They were due in Tacoma on Monday but are staying in the Spokane area for Christmas in hopes of recovering their belongings.

This is the second time this year a U-Haul trailer has been stolen from a Spokane Valley motel parking lot.
