KARACHI - Train services have been suspended in Karachi, Hyderabad and Nawabshah after rail tracks in the cities were blown up with explosives on Friday morning.

Three persons were reported wounded in the explosions, SAMAA TV reports.

The injured were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) where they were said to be out of danger.

Relief teams- including police and the Rangers- arrived on the spot, and the entire area has been cordoned off, with bomb disposal squads garnering clues from the blast sites. A search operation has been started in the adjoining areas.

SSP Jamshed Town said that both up and down tracks in Baloch Colony bridge area of Karachi were partially damaged in the explosions, with a 1.5-foot patch of track being damaged.

In another similar incident, rail tracks were blown up with two bomb blasts in Bengali Colony Hussainabad, Hyderabad, while the third incident occurred at Mehrabpur railway station.

The explosions in all three cities are reported to have occurred within minutes of each other and appear to be coordinated attacks.

According to PR sources, the tracks will be restored in four to five hours. (ANI)
