India-Pakistan dialogue will build trust, tweets Omar

JAMMU - Calling it big news, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Friday said the resumption of the India-Pakistan dialogue will help build trust and perhaps lay to rest the “post Mumbai period”.
Abdullah posted on his Twitter account: For me, the news of the day is the resumption of dialogue with Pakistan. Perhaps the post Mumbai period can be laid to rest and trust built.
New Delhi and Islamabad Thursday said the two countries would resume their dialogue and discuss all issues, including Kashmir.
Abdullah became chief minister in January 2009 when memories of the terrorist assault on Mumbai in November 2008 were fresh on everyone’s mind and the India-Pakistan dialogue was dumped from the diplomatic table.
Abdullah had been advocating talks between the two countries saying its absence had created a sense of despondency among people particularly in the Kashmir Valley.
On Egypt, Omar tweeted for the first time Friday morning. He said: Slept expecting Mubarak to go and woke up to find ALL the channels, the CIA and even Pres Obama got it so wildly wrong. The drama continues.”
Earlier, Thursday night, he also had sent a message: One military man is believed to be preparing to hand over to another military man and Egypt is preparing to celebrate. Strange place.
