Canadians take part in Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

NEW DELHI - Canadians proudly participated in the ninth edition of the Government of India-sponsored Indian diaspora reunion, the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), January 7 to 9 in New Delhi.
The Canada-based Indo Canadian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) led a large delegation to the event. At a reception at the High Commission of Canada, the ICCC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Delhi-based Indo Canadian Business Chamber (ICBC) to facilitate future cooperation.
The global edition of the PBD this year will take place in June in Toronto, Canada; as part of the Year of India in Canada, 2011.
In another related development, an international conference on “India-Canada Trade and FDI bilateral flows” was held in Vadodara, Gujarat on January 10 and 11.
This conference was funded by a Canada conference grant to the Centre for Canadian Studies, M.S. University of Baroda which organized the event in partnership with the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI). (ANI)
