The buzz around anonymous novel on Obama

WASHINGTON - A forthcoming novel about the Obama administration has been causing quite a stir especially since nothing much is known about its contents or its author.

The publisher of the book has remained tight-lipped, and other than its January 25 publication date, little is known about “O: A Presidential Novel”.

The novel, which has 368 pages and is priced at 25.99 dollars, is being released by Simon and Schuster, though there is no mention of the book on its website.

According to news reports on the book, the person behind it supposedly has “vast personal experience” on the subject of Obama’s White House.

Inevitably, comparisons have been drawn to the novel “Primary Colors”, which was also written anonymously, and told the story of a southern governor’s Democratic presidential campaign.

The book was clearly inspired by Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential run and full of inside details that set Beltway tongues wagging, and although journalist Joe Klein strenuously denied it for months, he later admitted he was the author.

Not surprisingly, then, speculation as to who wrote “O: A Presidential Novel” has turned to Klein.

But in an interview with Yahoo News, Klein denied he had anything to do with the book.

“I absolutely deny writing it, have no idea who did, have no idea what’s in it,” the Washington Post quoted him as saying.

The only name attached to the novel is of actor/director Campbell Scott who reads the book’s audio version. (ANI)
