NEW DELHI - The Delhi Government has sanctioned an amount of Rs.10 crore for improving a sewer line on Vikas Marg.
The decision was taken after Urban Development Minister Dr. A.K. Walia today took a round of Vikas Marg and Laxmi Nagar areas to take stock of settled down sewer lines along with the CEO of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), Ramesh Negi, and other senior officers.
With residents of Vikas Marg and M and L Blocks of Laxmi Nagar complaining about facing difficulties due to overflowing sewer lines, settled sewer lines, mixing of sewer water with drinking water lines, potholes and inadequate water supply, Dr. Walia stressed upon the need of permanent solution to these problems.
The DJB has also been tasked with the responsibility of constructing a parallel 900 mm sewer line on this section and will also prepare a comprehensive rehabilitation plan of sewer lines in entire Trans Yamuna area for inclusion in its 12th Five Year Plan. (ANI)
