Chhattisgarh Police gun down two Maoists in Narayanpur encounter

NARAYANPUR - The police officials gunned down two Maoists in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur District on Wednesday.

The officials later claimed to have recovered the dead bodies of these two Maoists in a search operation soon after the encounter got over.

Speaking about the success in the encounter, Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Mayank Shrivastav said the district police force had been deployed for general researching and area domination, where the officials met with an encounter with a platoon of heavily armed 30-40 Maoists in the region.

Shrivastav further informed that the police officials recovered one INSAS rifle, country made pistol, hand-made grenade from the site of gun battle, besides Maoists propaganda materials.

“We recovered dead bodies of two Maoists. One out of them is probably the head or platoon commander of the area, Kishore. From them, we have recovered one INSAS (rifle) in which two magazines out which one was filled, round in the chamber, one country-made pistol, one hand grenade, many detonators have also been recovered and apart from these, propaganda materials was also recovered including two batteries and audio cassette player,” he said.

No police official was injured in the operation. (ANI)
