Explosives seized in Kashmir

RAJOURI - Indian Army personnel seized powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and cache of arms and ammunition from Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district during the week-end.

According to Army officials, the explosives along with arms and ammunition were found during a search and combing operation in Pir Panjal range and surrounding forests of the district.

Shabbir Choudhary, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of the district said that the explosives belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

“This is a major success of the police and security personnel. One of the major modules of Lashkar-e-Taiba has been busted. This will be a severe blow to their militant activity in the region,” he added.

The seized items include 14 Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), seven hand grenades, one Pakistan made pistol, AK 47 Rifle, 79 rounds ammunition, 10 rounds of bullet and binoculars. (ANI)
