ORANGE COUNTY (GaeaTimes.com)- A moisture formation pipeline which has its origin at Hawaii has reached western parts of USA and it has brought along rainfall and strong winds. It is known as Pineapple Express. The weather experts have said that it will cause moderate to heavy rainfall in Orange County and adjoining areas in the next week. The chances of cloud formation and rainfall are high as the fusion of cold air and warm moisture will take place. Mark Moede, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service said that the areas will witness rainfall and gusts of wind will also be felt. He said that this kind of weather developments are not seen frequently in California’s southern parts.
The National Weather Service spokesperson went on to add that the Pineapple Express may extend the rainfall and as a result, the next few days would be quite wet. However, it is too early to say if the weather will continue to be the same till Christmas. The mountain area will get heavy rainfall as it has been predicted while the Orange County residents can expect to get 2 to 3 inches of rainfall. The weather office experts have not agreed on how much rain is likely to take place in the area but they agree unanimously that it is going to be wet weekend ahead.
Pineapple Express can also cause flooding and mudslide in some regions including those scorched by a wildfire a few weeks ago. The preparations have been taken by the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Operations to tackle any untoward situations.
