Black Magic ritualists kill child in Mangalore

MANGALORE - Karnataka Police on Friday arrested three people for killing a child as part of a black magic ritual in Mangalore.

The accused were identified as a woman named Chandrakala, and two men named Kamalaksha Purusha and Madhav Purusha.

The parents of the three-year old girl are migrants from Bihar, and were staying on lease in the house of the accused.

Local media reported that the three accused abducted the child from her house, and later killed her in the course of a black magic ritual.

Chandrakala, one of the three accused, confessed to the crime.

“We removed the clothes of the child first and then strangled her,” she said.

Meanwhile, locals recovered body of the child from the garden of the accused.

Angry mobs smashed the household and the belongings of the main accused, Kamalaksha Purusha.

They broke doors and windows of the house and burnt Purusha’s belongings.eynaldo, a resident, condemned the brutal killing of the child and demanded for tough punishment for the accused.

“From past two-and-a-half years, he had been involved in similar crimes but no action has been taken by area police against him. We have lodged a case against him in the district administration. We want to highlight this matter with media so that he would get tough punishment for his unacceptable offence,” said Reynaldo.

“This man has political support. We want to live in peace. After all, what harm did the innocent child do to him, which made him brutally kill her?” he added.
