Fuel price hike upsets people across India

MUMBAI/KOLKATA - The hike in price of fuels has upset citizens all across the country.

State-run oil retailers raised petrol prices at midnight on Wednesday by close to three rupees.

The hike comes in to effect after international crude oil prices touched 90 dollars per barrel.

The revised Petrol prices in Delhi are Rupees 55.87 per litre, in Mumbai Rupees 60.27 and Rupees 59.77 in Kolkata.

The hiked fuel price in Bangalore is Rupees 62.62 and Rupees 60.40 per litre in Chennai.

India’s wholesale price index rose 7.48 percent in November from a year earlier, compare to 8.58 percent in October.

U.S. crude for January delivery fell 33 cents to settle at 88.28 dollars a barrel. Prices reached a 26-month high of 90.76 dollars on December 7. (ANI)
