Bernard Madoff’s Son Dead

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- Mark Madoff, the son of Bernard Madoff, who was arrested two years ago on charges of security fraud was found dead at his home on Saturday. The law enforcement officials say that he apparently hanged himself in his condo in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. Martin Flumenbaum, the attorney of his family said in his statement that Mark Madoff took his own life.

The law enforcement officials said that Bernard Madoff’s eldest son’s body was discovered by his father-in-law Martin London at around 7:30 in the morning. Mark Madoff’s wife Stephanie at first informed police when she received an e-mail from her husband in which it was reportedly stated that he could not take the unrelenting pressure and the curse on her family after her father’s arrest. Martin Flumenbaum said that it was an unnecessary tragedy of the family as it seems that Mark Madoff has become the victim of his father’s disgraceful crime.

The law enforcement officials said that the New York City Medical Examiner’s office would conduct an autopsy as soon as possible and confirm about the cause of death. The police said that it was Mark Madoff who informed police that his father’s Ponzi scheme was on the verge of collapse. Though both the Madoff brothers claimed that they are innocent, the police carried their investigation on them because they worked on Bernard Madoff’s family and business. Martin Flumenbaum, on the other hand said that Mark Madoff could not take two years of non-stop pressure and false blames and accusations. The attorney expressed his condolences and said that he is saddened by the turn of events which shocked the entire family and everyone around.
