Baloch Chief Minister condemns twin suicide blasts in Pak’s Mohmand Agency

QUETTA - Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani has strongly condemned the twin suicide bomb attacks in Mohmand Agency, terming them a barbaric act.
In a statement, Raisani expressed his profound grief over the loss of precious lives, saying that the elements involved in such an inhuman act could not be called Muslims, The News reported.
He prayed for the souls of the martyrs and early recovery of the injured persons.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the bombings in Ghanalai has risen to 42, according to sources.
On Monday, bombers had targeted a local administration compound in Ghalanai, the main town in the tribal district of Mohmand, about 175 kilometres (110 miles) northwest of the federal capital Islamabad and near the Afghan border.
Local administration officials said that there were two suicide bombers- the first bomber blew himself up at the entrance and the second inside the compound.
“There was a meeting underway between the local administration chief and tribal elders, members of the peace committee (anti-Taliban militia) when the blast took place,” a local official, Maqsood Amin, said. (ANI)
