WASHINGTON - When it comes to jewellery, First Lady Michelle Obama has a clear favourite - Brooklyn-bred designer Alexis Bittar.
Obama has been spotted all over the globe in a variety of baubles from the jeweller, whose preferred working materials include lucite and semi-precious stones, reports People mag.
In fact, she appeared on the Barbara Walters’ Thanksgiving Day special in an all-black ensemble with an Alexis Bittar poppy pin.
In the following two weeks, her admiration was in full bloom, selecting the jeweller’s 395-dollar flower pin while on a Presidential trip to India and then again at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Soon after, she demonstrated her versatility with three other Bittar selections, donning a playful hand carved bee brooch on Halloween, a triple strand pearl necklace and then lucite domed button clip earrings while abroad in India.
And the best part - it doesn’t cost too much to wear an Alexis Bittar piece. His designs start at just 95 dollars at alexisbittar.com. (ANI)
