EUGENE (GaeaTimes.com)- There was much confusion on Friday after buyers went through a harrowing experience for buying tickets for the upcoming Elton John concert in Eugene’s Matthew Knight Arena. The show is slated to take place on February 2011. Thousands of music lovers had turned up to get the tickets and many ardent fans of the legendary singer were seen waiting for long hours in the hope that they would manage to get the tickets. However, all hopes were dashed when they were denied tickets saying that all were sold except for a few that offered a back stage seat for $29.

As if this was not enough many on-line buyers too came up with similar complaints. A buyer said that no matter how many times he tried to buy the show tickets he was constantly getting a message saying that his request could not be registered but shockingly his credit card bills were popping up. Every time the purchase failed, the charges were levied along with it. The day left the ticket buyers all fuming as they were upset with the way the University Of Oregon officials were handling the entire situation for the first musical concert of the Matthew Knight Arena.

According to sources, a University spokesperson said that the problem arose due to a coding glitch in the ticketing system. The only ones said to be relieved of the problem were the University Of Oregon donors who were sent an e-mail on Wednesday night with the purchasable code in it. Elton John will be the first musician to play in the Matthew Knight Arena, which will eventually be the home for the University of Oregon Ducks basketball teams.
